JCC Folkschool , Transfer paints 2022

JCC Folkschool in Brasstown NC, hosts several arts and craft courses every week at this beautiful campus . The last week of October is one of the most stunning times here. Colors to inspire you everywhere.

This week Transfer paint was on the menu, and this group of wonderful women from all over the country came together to learn something new. This was new to all, but several demonstrations and hands on instruction during the week got everyone inspired and ready to go.
First day was spent on painting papers (you have heard this a few times now)

Lots of painting and mixing colors going on. No rules, everything goes and  there were quite a few surprising results.

Next, starting pressing and printing with the papers on poly/cotton fabrics

A few days in, and the wall in the very large studio was covered with vibrant colors. It is always amazing how different everyone's colors turn out. This time I have several old style irons on hand and the extra heat they put out really did make a difference.
Many small quilts got both printed and quilted this week
A small selection of this week's "production". Beautiful bright and strong colors. Just enjoy the diversity!

Friday night, closing of the week of classes, our display showed a few pieces, just to give everyone a peak of what was accomplished. This is very inspiring for me, cannot wait to start a few new projects  and paint some more papers. New leaves in the box are just waiting to be used.

Check out all classes offered at the Follkschool at folkschool.org

I will teach another class at the School in April 2023.
